Meet Mason and Sophia, two passionate individuals united by a mission to uplift those who serve our communities. Mason, a Marine Corps veteran, dedicated years of his life to protect our freedoms. Upon returning to civilian life, he faced the challenges of reintegration, navigating a complex transition and searching for a sense of belonging. With the invaluable support of the VA and VFW, he discovered the importance of camaraderie and shared experiences.

Sophia has spent her life in service roles, whether in hospitals, social work, or supporting veterans. Her big heart and nurturing spirit make her a beacon of hope for those in need. Together, we realized that our journeys—one of military service and the other of compassionate care—could be harnessed to create positive change.

Our journey truly began with the "Vet Together Paintball" event held in September 2025, which ignited our passion for creating a nonprofit. With the unwavering support of our community partners and generous donors, we raised an incredible $10,000. This milestone not only allowed us to organize a successful event but also laid the financial groundwork for the Play For Heroes Foundation. Witnessing the camaraderie and joy among participants reaffirmed our mission and showcased the power of community support.

Looking ahead, we aspire to expand our reach, offering more resources, workshops, and community events. Our goal is to create a network of support that not only uplifts individuals but also strengthens the fabric of our community. We invite everyone to join us—whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word.

As we reflect on our journey, we are filled with gratitude for the lessons learned and the relationships forged.
